#AMERICAN MEGATRENDS BIOS UPDATE ASUSTEK G551JW INSTALL#
If nothing can be done, Is there a way to reinstall Arch from scratch taking advantage of the existing Arch distribution? or Do you suggest to install everything again from the pendrive? Please let me know everything you consider useful to figure out what is happening. I am attaching content of `joirnalctl -b` and `dmesg` and the `/etc/passwd` Because of this, I get errors or no permissions for a lot of things (like ssh or git). which is very strange because the proper line is in the /etc/passwd` file. If I log with my username, I get "I have no name!" prompt.

I can switch to other virtual terminals. After boot, I select arch in grub, I see some "/dev/sda clean" messages and then the black screen with a fixed hyphen in the corner. The problem is that I don't recall exactly everything I have tried, so I will try to give some details of the current status. Now, I have tried everything but I can't make it work. This is very strange because in my previous installation in this computer, all was so easy and everything worked so well. After installing everything (bumblebee, bbswitch, xf86-video-intel, nvidia, Mesa, gdm, gnome) I get a black screen with a fixed hyphen. but it is not working.Īctually, it was working very well until my SSD suddenly died and I had to reinstall Arch. I have a Asus Laptop with an Intel i7 and a Nvidia graphic card and wanted to use it with Optimus.
